12 Days Of Christmas | Christmas Q&A

Although I don't own a Youtube channel yet or a Twitter account, I decided that, for day 10 of  "12 Days Of Christmas", a Christmas themed Q&A would be just the perfect post. This way, you can know me a little bit better and I can talk about my favourite time of the year - hopefully a win-win situation! I picked out some questions from here and there that I really liked and answered them.

1 | What's your favourite thing about Christmas?
My favourite thing about Christmas is just all the vibes associated with it! Everyone is so cheerful and everything seems magical with all the fairy lights and decorations on the streets and houses... Everything seem

2 |  What time do you wake up on Christmas day?
I still love to get up early on Christmas morning - and every 365 days of the year, let me keep it real. But I must confess that on the 25th I wake up more earlier, at like 6am or something, I literally just can't sleep any longer, just like I couldn't when I was little.

3 | Do you prefer a themed Christmas tree or a mix&match Christmas tree?
Since we have so many lovely decorations to put on the tree and since every single shop seems to have more and more beautiful Christmas ornaments, I prefer a mix&matched Christmas tree because it's the only way I find to keep all the ornaments in one place where I can share with everyone who visits our house. And for me, a Christmas tree with different ornaments and colourful fairy lights is the perfect harmony for our living room during this time of the year.

4 | What do you leave out for Father Christmas on Christmas eve?
On the 24th, my siblings and I leave a Christmas mug of white milk and some handmade biscuits for Santa and a couple of carrots for his reindeer.

5 | What's your favourite breakfast on Christmas morning?
It's the only day in the whole year when it's totally acceptable to only eat sweats for breakfast and I love that. I just love to eat my mum's French toasts and some biscuits that we had made during December. I really like the typical Spanish Christmas sweat, little shortbreads, too. I usually drink a hot chocolate or just some milk.

6 | What's your favourite thing to bake during Christmas?
Definitely all kind of cookies and biscuits. Handmade cookies are just the best, specially during Christmas time, and every year I try to bake 5 different types. My favourite are the little Blattertörte biscuits and sugar cookies.

7 |  What's your favourite Christmas movie?
I can't help myself when it comes to Christmas movies and it's so hard to pick out just one film, I think I'll go for 3: "The Holiday" (who doesn't like a cheesy Christmas film during the holidays?), "Arthur Christmas" (such a lovely animation movie) and, of course, "Love Actually".

8 | If you had to star in a Christmas film, which one would you choose and what character would you be?
I need to go for Cameron Diaz in "The Holiday" because, uh, Jude Law? Who doesn't need/want a Jude Law in their life? And also, this is such a great film, I would be the luckiest person to be a part of it having in mind the great plot and the even greater cast.

9 | Do you like receiving presents or giving presents?
I need to confess that I prefer giving presents more than receiving them! Of course I like to get presents and when people are thoughtful and buy me something but I always put so much effort when looking for gifts and in wrapping presents that I get really excited for giving them to my family and friends. Although Christmas is not only about presents, the thoughts you put on someone while looking for something they would like, that's the magic of Christmas that I like.

10 | What's your favourite Christmas tradition you will carry on when you have your own family?
There are a couple of traditions that I would love to keep with my own family! The first one is to set up a big Christmas tree in the living room and decorate it all together while listening Christmas music. Another one is to have my kids waking me up early on the 25th morning, excited because Santa came and put the family gifts under the tree! So, all the presents only get under the tree on Christmas eve, never before. And of course, keep baking biscuits during December to have a lot of different types to eat on Christmas morning.

11 | What's your favourite Christmas song?
I'm really terrible at picking just one movie or one song or one anything... That's why I made a playlist for you with all my favourite Christmas tunes. But, at this moment, I'm loving Coldplay's song, Christmas Lights.

12 | What's your favourite Christmas morning from when you were a kid?
I remember when I was like 10, I was the one with the biggest present under the tree. I don't know if I'm the only doing this (probably I'm  not) but I always keep the biggest present from my parents to the end, so it's the last one to be opened! That year, of course, that big package was the last one in my side of the tree. When I opened it I was so surprised. I received a toy I've never imagined to get and it was so dreamy... I received the Playmobil supermarket! I was so happy, I spent the whole day smiling, dreaming about the moment I could sit down and play with it. For so long I played with it every single day. Definitely, this surprise and unexpected gift from my parents is one of the greatest memories I'll ever keep.
