MET Gala 2016

Last Monday, May 2, took place in New York the 2016 edition of the Met Gala, the annual fundraising gala for the benefit of Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute in New York City. Each year's event celebrates the theme of that year's Costume Institute exhibition, and the exhibition sets the tone for the formal dress of the night since guests are expected to choose their fashion to match the theme of the exhibit. This year's theme was "Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology" since the upcoming exhibition will focus on the dichotomy between handmade haute couture and machine-made fashion. In my opinion, this was one of the greatest galas ever with beautiful gowns, including the LED dress from Claire Danes and plenty of metallics. If you missed out the gala, take a look at this year's red carpet.

Golden Globes 2016

Red carpet season is finally here and the first major event? The 2016 edition of the Golden Globes in Beverly Hills, California. Having in mind that Golden Globes boasts the world's biggest stars from both TV and movies, it's pretty understandable if you don't know where to look first. Plus, this year's red carpet was filled with beautiful gowns from the most exiting and influential dressers on the planet! One thing that it's sure: glamour was everywhere during the whole night!

We should totally start by the arrivals at the red carpet and everything related with it: the dresses, the jewels, the shoes... Thankfully I got my life together and organised a bunch of red carpet's outfit according to their characteristics - colours, mostly - in this post so you can compare every single look and don't miss out a thing. Let's dream big from our computer screens, shall we?!

It is undeniable that Christmas jumpers are the most amazing thing during this time, mostly because they are all very sweet and comfy. I already have mine. I bought it 4 years ago and I love it soooooo much - it's a lovely jumper with Rudolph on it. Unfortunately they are not selling it anymore but I found some other beautiful options for you all, hopefully you will like them.

British Fashion Awards 2015

The London's biggest style event of the year took place at the London Coliseum, last Monday, 23rd November. The British Fashion Awards (fashion's equivalent of the Oscars) - which rewards the fashionable personalities of 2015 - was attended by the most famous and stylish people from all over the world and, of course, the red carpet was the perfect showcase for all the personalities to show off their best (or worst) pick ups for this glamorous night.

One color that no matter what it is always a safe choice when we're talking about this kind of events is our beloved black. And of course, many personalities opted for this color and, in my personal opinion, they nailed it with their choice. Look at this head-to-toe red carpet outfits:

Rita Ora - Chanel | Olga Kurylenko - Dolce&Gabbana | Kate Beckinsale - Erdem | Liv Tyler - Stella Mc Cartney

The transparencies also became a must-have in the red carpets all over the world, and at the BFA many personalities went for this kind of cloth. The one thing about transparencies is that you either nail on it or completely fail wearing it. Let's take a look on some of this year's choices:

Cheryl Versini - Topshop | Naomi Campbell - Burberry | Tanya Burr - Barbara Casasola | Georgia May Jegger - Gucci

Sequins and metallized dresses appears to be a common choice among personalities to this kind of events and this year was not an exception. With all kinds of different necklines, this more exuberant option was really appreciated during this year's BFA.

Rosie Huntington-Whieteley - Burberry | Karlie Kloss - Chanel | Poppy Delevingne - Emilia Wickstead | Chloe Green

This year's winner of the coveted "Model of the year" prize, Jourdan Dunn, went for an amazing black&white dress (my favorite of the night, I need to say) just like Mollie King. Definitely an amazing combination of colors. Last but not least, white dresses were also present during the event, this white dresses were minimalist but never unnoticed.

Jourdan Dunn - Thierry Mugler | Mollie King - PPQ | Pixie Lott - Issa | Arizona Muse - Ralph&Russo

What do you think about this year's British Fashion Awards red carpet? Any favorite? Who do you think that wore the best dress? I hope you had enjoyed this BFA review.
